Ari Ray was a post-doctoral researcher on the Unequal Democracies project from September 2020 until February 2023, pursuing an independent research project on the determinants and consequences of descriptive representation by gender and social class, leveraging unique data on the socio-demographic characteristics of municipal and regional councils in Italy.  She is currently an Early-Career Fellow at the Collegium Helveticum in Zürich and will start an Ambizione Grant, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, in August 2024.
