Elif Naz Kayran

Elif Naz Kayran is a post-doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs at Leiden University since August 2020. She was a junior visiting scholar in 2019-20 at Nuffield College and DPIR at Oxford. Elif received her PhD in political science from the Graduate Institute Geneva (IHEID). On her doctoral dissertation, she explored the effects of socio-economic vulnerability and inequality on public attitudes towards immigration and support for radical right-wing parties. She currently works on topics related to comparative political economy, welfare states, immigration, voting rights, and citizenship studies. Related to Unequal Democracies, Elif investigates the relationship between trade unions and immigrant rights and the political participation gaps between immigrant and native citizens.
